I had a snowboard jacket and iPod stolen at Geneva airport, just as I was going to board a plane. I therefore didn’t have any time to report it to the Swiss, who really didn’t care either way to be honest. Therefore, although everything else was in order, Insure and Go Travel Insurance refused to pay out. On top of all this, it took them five months to actually get round to refusing the claim. Unbelievable!

Made a claim with them a few months ago for a damaged suitcase. I was impressed with the speed and ease of the claim and as such would reccomend them.

The policy gave me what I paid for – I had the misfortune to claim for both medical and baggage, the assistance given whilst abroad was brilliant and both claims dealt with without too much grief – there are good and bad points to every insurance policy. Don’t think one exists that will cover everything unless you want to pay the earth (which I don’t!). For future would recommend that you pay a little more to get an excess waiver, at least if you do have to claim you’ll get close to the full amount.

I had an accident while skiing in Austria, which resulted in the need for emergency surgery. Insure and Go have an exclusion in their policy which states that they will only pay for surgery that their doctor deems essential, which left me very worried as my injury was serious and I was unable to stand up, never mind walk! I went ahead with the surgery and hoped they’d pay. After 7 weeks, they have agreed to pay the cost of my treatment and also the medically related travel expenses. I wouldn’t use them again, I claimed £900 in legitimate expenses and they paid £300. There is a long list of expenses they have decided not to pay, but overall they have been OK.

I have been insured with them for the past two years and had no problems. Their policies are competitively priced but not the cheapest – I paid about £58 for an annual policy this year however plenty of cowboy companies on the internet charge far less. they delivered my documents promptly and also answered the phone quickly when I called them about a claim. I was claiming for lost luggage. The appropriate forms arrived within days, I sent them off with evidence as requested and received my cheque back witihin 3 weeks! I guess I must have been one of the lucky ones. One additional bonus of this company is that you get a credit card with your policy number and useful phone number on to take away with you – I feel this could prove to be a lifesaver in some situations!

Insure and Go travel insurance have been very good up to present! Took out a 1 year world wide Platinum cover…
4 weeks before our first Holiday the wife had to have an operation and we had to cancel. There were a lot of forms to fill in, but the cost was paid out in full.
Rang up to see if we were still covered on the insurance and was told yes!
